Gilmour Island


Gilmour Island, Gilmour Slough (49˚07'00" 123˚07'00" Just S of Lulu I, N side of S Arm, Fraser R). These names are probably misspellings for James Gilmore (1864–1939), who acquired the island in 1906. He was born in Ireland and moved about 1883 to Sea I and then to Richmond, where he farmed, raised Holstein cattle and later served on the Richmond Police Commission, 1917–28.
