Gillespie Channel

Gillespie Channel (53˚03'00" 129˚37'00" Between Trutch I and Prior I, Estevan Group, SE of Banks I). Flying Officer H V Gillespie navigated this channel in the Sekani, an RCAF supply vessel that was based at Western Air Command, Vancouver, during WWII. (The RCAF had a small fleet that assisted with flying-boat operations, searched for downed aircraft and helped supply and service its coastal bases. See also Sekani I.)
