Gibson Group


Gibson Group (53˚57'00" 130˚09'00" N of Pitt I, S of Kennedy I), Gibson Island (53˚55'00" 130˚10'00" Part of the Gibson Group). Lt Herbert William Sumner Gibson (1846–1923) served on the Pacific Station, based at Esquimalt, 1866–68. First he was on HMS Topaze, under Capt Richard Powell, and later on HMS Sparrowhawk.
