Georgianna Point


Georgianna Point (53˚08'00" 132˚29'00" N side of Skidegate Channel, SW Graham I, QCI). The Georgianna, under Capt William Rowland, sailed to the QCI from Puget Sd in Nov 1851 to investigate reports of gold. The 41-tonne US vessel was wrecked and driven ashore in Skidegate Inlet in a sudden storm, then pillaged by a hostile group of waiting Haida.
