George Point


George Point (54˚03'00" 132˚34'00" E side of Alexandra Narrows, entrance to Naden Hbr, N side of Graham I, QCI). After George Inskip, master of HMS Virago on the Pacific Station, 1852–55. See Inskip Channel. The point was the site of an old Haida village named Skaos. A salmon cannery (1910–19) and crab cannery (1919–24, 1933–40) also operated there.
