Fox Islands


Fox Islands (51˚05'00" 127˚37'00" Entrance to Slingsby Channel, NW side of Queen Charlotte Str). George Lane Fox (1810–96) was a member of an aristocratic Yorkshire family, occupants of Bramham Park estate. He was high sheriff of Leitrim in 1846 and high sheriff of the W Riding of Yorkshire in 1873. Lt Daniel Pender named several features in this vicinity after Yorkshire “sporting” families during his 1865 survey work. W
