Foote Islets


Foote Islets (52˚16'00" 128˚16'00" W entrance to Spiller Channel, NW of Bella Bella). Master mariner Hamilton R Foote (1858–1901) was born in Ireland and came to Canada in 1874. His wife, Edith Sophia Foote (1866–1947), was born at Toronto. Capt Foote had charge of several significant vessels in PNW waters, including the Danube, Maude, Mischief and Willapa, and was the first commodore of the NW International Yachting Assoc.
