Foch Lagoon


Foch Lagoon (53˚48'00" 129˚05'00" Extends NW of Drumlummon Bay, NW side of Douglas Channel, SW of Kitimat). French marshal and military theorist Ferdinand Foch (1851–1929) was one of France’s most senior and successful army officers throughout WWI and was appointed supreme cdr of Allied forces in 1918. Nearby Foch Ck and Foch Lk are also named for him, as is Mt Foch on the BC-Alberta border. A settlement named Foch existed briefly in the 1910s and ’20s at Olsen Lk, just E of Desolation...
