Evans Rock (48˚27'00" 123˚16'00" S of Flower I, entrance to Cadboro Bay, Victoria). Rev Ephraim Evans (1804–92) was born in England and immigrated to Canada in 1820 with his father. He became a senior figure in Canadian Methodist circles: editor of the Christian Guardian, founder of the Upper Canada Anti-Slavery Society (1837), gov of Mt Allison Academy (1857–58) and a minister at Kingston, Niagara, Toronto, Hamilton, London, Halifax, Charlottetown and elsewhere.
