Etta Point


Etta Point (50˚18'00" 125˚13'00" W tip of Maurelle I, N of Campbell R). The historic 29-m tugboat Etta White, built in 1871 at Freeport, Washington, by Capt George White, operated on the mail route between Bellingham, Port Townsend and the San Juan Is under Capt Henry Smith. In 1875 it was bought by the Moodyville sawmill on Burrard Inlet, and by 1887 was working out of Victoria, still with Smith as master.
