Emilia Island


Emilia Island (53˚45'00" 128˚58'00" Off entrance to Gilttoyees Inlet, Douglas Channel, SW of Kitimat). Maria Emilia Tarte, of Montreal, was the eldest daughter of outspoken Que journalist and politician Joseph-Israël Tarte (1848–1907), who served as federal minister of Public Works, 1896–1902, in the Liberal cabinet of Sir Wilfrid Laurier.
