Ellen Island

Ellen Island (52˚09'00" 131˚06'00" In Houston Stewart Channel, between Moresby I and Kunghit I, QCI). Ellen Mary Moresby (b 1820) was the eldest daughter of Rear Adm Fairfax Moresby, cdr-in-chief of the RN’s Pacific Station 1850–53. In 1842 she married James Charles Prevost (1810–91), who served on the Pacific Station in 1850–52 aboard HMS Portland, Moresby’s flagship.
