Eden Point


Eden Point (50˚24'00" 125˚47'00" NW end of W Thurlow I, Johnstone Str). Adm Henry Eden (1797–1888) was a lord of the Admiralty, 1855–58. After serving as capt of HMS Conway, Impregnable and Caledonia, he was private secretary, 1846–48, to his politician cousin George Eden (1st Lord of the Admiralty, gov gen of India), and then superintendent of Woolwich dockyard, 1848–53. Named by Capt George Richards about 1860. W
