Butler Cove

Butler Cove (54˚07'00" 130˚40'00" SE side of Stephens I, SW of Prince Rupert). John William Butler (1868–1924), a native of Nfld, worked for the New England Fish Co in Hecate Str, 1896–97, as capt of the steamer Thistle. The company had a fish-packing facility in the cove at that time. In the 1901 census he is listed as master of the giant tug Lorne. The cove was named by Capt John Walbran in 1897 while surveying the area with CGS Quadra.
