Burnes Passage


Burnes Passage (53˚05'00" 129˚06'00" Campania Sd, NW side of Princess Royal I). Named in 1926 after Robert Edward Burnes, who was born at Victoria in 1873 and married Sophia E Pears (1882–1955) there in 1907. He was a son of Irishman Thomas J Burnes (1833–1915), who arrived in BC in 1858 and married Katherine E McCloy (1836–1919), from NY, in 1862.
