Burleith Arm


Burleith Arm (49˚00'00" 123˚48'00" E side of Woods I, Ladysmith Hbr, E side of Vancouver I). Named in 1904 by Cdr John Parry of HMS Egeria after the stately Victoria residence of James Dunsmuir, the BC industrialist who served as premier of the province, 1900–1902, and lt gov, 1906–9. Dunsmuir named his home after the birthplace of his father, Robert Dunsmuir, also a BC industrialist and politician, in Ayrshire, Scotland.
