Brig Rock


Brig Rock (50˚47'00" 126˚54'00" Off SW end of the Polkinghorne Is, W of Broughton I, NE side of Queen Charlotte Str). Named about 1865 by Lt Daniel Pender of the Beaver in association with the Polkinghorne Is (qv) and Fantome Point (qv). Charles Polkinghorne had been master of the brig Fantome, under Cdr John Gennys, on the RN’s Australian Station, 1850–56.
