Bridgeman Rock


Bridgeman Rock (52˚38'00" 129˚17'00" Off W side of Aristazabal I, NW of Bella Bella). Sgt Richard Bridgman (apparently the correct spelling of his name is without an “e”) was a member of the Columbia detachment of Royal Engineers, which served in BC 1858–63. He sailed to Victoria in 1859 on Thames City with the main body of men, accompanied by his pregnant wife and young son.
