Brecciated Point

Brecciated Point (49˚56'10" 127˚13'13" S of Rugged Point, NW of Bamfield, Barkley Sd, W side of Vancouver I). Breccia, found at this site, is a visually striking rock composed of angular fragments cemented in a fine-grained matrix such as sand or clay. The point was named in 1950. Breccia Mtn and Breccia Glacer in the Coast Mtns also take their names from this rock, as does Breccia Peak in northern BC.
