Bowles Point


Bowles Point (52˚04'00" 131˚07'00" W side of Kunghit I, SE of Moresby I, QCI). William Bowles was a mariner and fur trader who spent much time in the QCI in the late 18th century. He sailed with Capt Robert Gray on the first voyage of the Columbia Rediviva, 1787–90, and later became mate of the Sea Otter, under Capt Stephen Hill.
