Booth Bay


Booth Bay (48˚52'00" 123˚34'00" NW side of Saltspring I, Gulf Is), Booth Inlet (48˚52'00" 123˚32'00" Extends E from Booth Bay). These features were almost certainly named after John Patton Booth, the prominent, lifelong politician from Saltspring, who pre-empted land on both sides of Booth Inlet shortly after his arrival on the island in 1860—and not after Eric A Booth, who was one of the original 1859 group of black settlers on the island.
