Boit Rock


Boit Rock (50˚08'00" 127˚40'00" E of Jackobson Point, Nasparti Inlet, NW side of Vancouver I). John Boit (1774–1829) was 5th mate aboard the Columbia Rediviva on Capt Robert Gray’s 1791–92 trading expedition to the PNW. A native of Boston, he was a brother-in-law of one of the ship’s merchant owners. His journal or logbook is the most complete surviving record of this historic voyage.
