Blowhole Bay

Blowhole Bay (49˚50'00" 126˚40'00" NE side of Nootka I, facing Tahsis Inlet, W side of Vancouver I). A strong crosswind hits Tahsis Inlet at this spot, funnelling down through the only gap in the high country to the W. A dryland log sort is located beside the bay, as well as a dock used by coastal freighter Uchuck III. Nearby Blowhole Ck is named after the bay. Both features were named by the hydrographic service about 1946.
