Blind Channel


Blind Channel (50˚25'00" 125˚30'00" E side of W Thurlow I, on Mayne Passage, NW of Campbell R). Capt George Vancouver missed the fact that Thurlow I is actually two islands, and Blind Channel may be an early local name for the body of water that separates them (now Mayne Passage). It has also been suggested that the small community of Blind Channel got its name because it is tucked into a cove and cannot easily be seen by passing boat traffic.
