Blanche Point


Blanche Point (50˚29'00" 125˚42'00" N side of Forward Hbr, E of Hardwicke I, N of Johnstone Str). Lady Blanche Emma Lascelles (1837–63) was a sister of Lt Horace Lascelles, who was in command of the RN gunboat Forward on the BC coast, 1861–65 (see Lascelles Point). She became the Countess of Shannon by marrying Henry Boyle (1833–90), the 5th Earl of Shannon, in 1859.
