Beresford Inlet


Beresford Inlet (52˚37'00" 131˚36'00" SW end of Lyell I, E of Moresby I, QCI). According to QCI historian Kathleen Dalzell, this feature, formerly known as Beresford Arm, was named after Henry Lawry “Charlie” Beresford, an early prospector in the QCI and sub-mining recorder at Lockeport, 1908–12. “Even when on a drunk,” a Dalzell source reported, Beresford “was always very much a gentleman” and was nicknamed “The Admiral,” after a supposed connection with British politician...
