Bendickson Harbour


Bendickson Harbour (50˚24'53" 125˚55'21" S side of Hardwicke I, N side of Johnstone Str opposite Sayward). Hans Andreas Bendickson (1878–1952) arrived in BC from Norway in 1901 and became a logger, working first in Howe Sd and on Broughton I. He established his own logging operations, complete with floating camps, at Port Moody, Quadra I, Pitt Lk and Britannia Beach, then settled with his wife, Gjertrud (1881–1969, née Andersdatter), and their seven children on Hardwicke I in 1918.
