Bargain Bay


Bargain Bay (49˚37'00" 124˚02'00" E side of Malaspina Str, S of Pender Hbr, SE of Powell R), Bargain Narrows (N end of Bargain Bay). The bay was originally named Bargain Hbr, probably by RN surveyor Capt George Richards about 1860. The name’s meaning has unfortunately been lost, and it is not known if the location of a Sechelt First Nation reserve right next to the narrows has any bearing on its origin.
