Barber Island

Barber Island (49˚06'00" 123˚06'00" In the Fraser R’s S Arm, just W of Ladner and S of Vancouver). The brothers Alfred B and Charles E Barber of Ladner acquired this island in 1888 from Henry Hicks and James Moran, who had received a Crown grant for the property—and for several other islands in the mouth of the Fraser—in 1885. The name appears on a geological survey map of the Fraser delta in 1923 and was adopted by the hydrographic service in 1936.
