Baker Rock


Baker Rock (50˚06'00" 127˚42'00" In Checleset Bay, E side of Brooks Peninsula, NW side of Vancouver I). Capt Wentworth E Baker (b 1862), from Yarmouth, Maine, was an active participant in the early Victoria-based sealing industry. He came out from Halifax on the Viva in 1886 and began sealing on that vessel, then crewed on the C H Tupper. Later he was master of the Pioneer, Allie I Alger and Tupper.
