Bailey Point

Bailey Point (52˚20'00" 128˚20'00" SE side of Lady Trutch Passage, E of Milbanke Sd). Sarah Margaret Bailey (1838–1924) was born Sarah Patterson at Hobart, Tasmania. Her father, a mariner, brought his family to California in 1849 on his own vessel. Sarah married Benjamin Bailey (1827–98), from Maine, in 1855 and in 1861 moved to Yale, where her husband operated a store and hotel. In 1882 the Baileys and their children came to live in Victoria.
