Babbage Island

Babbage Island (52˚35'00" 129˚09'00" Entrance to Clifford Bay, SW side of Aristazabal I). Sapper Richard Babbage came to BC with the Columbia detachment of Royal Engineers, which served in the province 1858–63. Little seems to be known about him, unfortunately. The name was adopted in 1927, as suggested by W coast hydrographic officials.
