Alldridge Point


Alldridge Point (48˚19'00" 123˚38'00" W entrance to Becher Bay, S end of Vancouver I). Lt George Manly Alldridge was an officer in the RN’s surveying branch. He was promoted cdr in 1855 and took on special surveying duties at HMS Fisgard, Woolwich, England. He retired with the rank of capt in 1864 and died in 1905. Named in 1846 by Capt Henry Kellett of HMS Herald, who undertook early surveying duties around the S end of Vancouver I.
