Alec Islet


Alec Islet (52˚21'00" 128˚23'00" Off E side of Lady Douglas I, NW of Bella Bella). Alec Douglas, born in 1831 at Ft Vancouver on the Columbia R, was the eldest son of BC colonial gov James Douglas and Amelia Douglas. Named after Alexander, James Douglas’s older brother, he died at age three after a tragic accident. The islet was named in 1929 by regional hydrographer Henri Parizeau.
