Tod Inlet

TOD INLET, a narrow arm of SAANICH INLET 16 km northwest of VICTORIA on VANCOUVER ISLAND, was known as Snictel, or "place of the blue grouse," to the Wsanec (Saanich) FIRST NATIONS people. It was named after John TOD, an HBC officer. The area has become a rural residential community on the SAANICH PENINSULA that borders Gowlland Tod Provincial PARK (12.21 sq km) and the BUTCHART GARDENS.
