Remac

REMAC, 28 km southeast of TRAIL on the Pend d'Oreille R just north of the US border, was named after the founders of Reeves MacDonald Mines Ltd. Lead–ZINCSILVER deposits were discovered in 1918 but commercial MINING did not begin until 1949, when a mill and townsite were developed. The ore was exhausted by 1975 and the mine shut down and dismantled.
