Mole


MOLE is a small burrowing mammal, a member of the order Insectivore, inhabiting the Lower Mainland and lower FRASER VALLEY. It has short legs with shovel-like feet for digging, a long snout and short velvety hair, grey to dark brown in colour. The mole spends much of its time underground: its small eyes see very poorly and it functions mainly by touch. Moles feed on earthworms and are themselves preyed upon mainly by OWLS.
