ISLAND TUG & BARGE LTD was one of the main TOWBOATING companies on the BC coast. Founded by Harold Elworthy (1901–75) in VICTORIA in 1925, it provided towing services to a variety of local industries, then expanded after WWII into deep-sea towing and salvage with the famous tug SUDBURY and, later, Sudbury II.
