HOLT, Simma, journalist (b Mar 1922, Vegreville, AB; d 23 January 2015, Vancouver). After graduating from the Univ of Manitoba she joined the VANCOUVER SUN in 1944 and was a reporter with the NEWSPAPER for the next 30 years. She won dozens of awards for her coverage of the VANCOUVER waterfront, major crime stories, the DOUKHOBOR demonstrations in the Interior and issues related to juvenile crime and abuse. Of her 4 books the best known is Terror in the Name of God (1964), about the Doukhobors....
