GUSTAFSEN LAKE lies at the end of a dirt road in rolling ranch land west of 100 MILE HOUSE in the CARIBOO. It burst into the headlines in Aug 1995 when a group of aboriginal activists and sympathizers occupied property belonging to a local rancher beside the lake, insisting it had spiritual significance and claiming ownership.
