Fishermen's Industrial Union


FISHERMEN'S INDUSTRIAL UNION was a militant organization of fishery workers on the coast formed in VANCOUVER early in 1932. Affiliated with the Communist Party through the Workers Unity League, it attempted to present an industry-wide united front to cannery owners. To this end it reorganized in 1934 as the Fishermen and Cannery Workers' Industrial Union (FCWIU).
