Doyle, Henry


DOYLE, Henry, businessman (b 8 Sept 1874, Paterson, NJ; d 1961, Hollywood). His father began a fishing supply and packing company in San Francisco and he joined the firm as a salesperson. In 1895 he came to VANCOUVER to manage a new branch office. When his father died, he took over the entire firm at age 24. In 1902 he led attempts to eliminate competition and control costs in the SALMON CANNING industry by merging several companies into the British Columbia Packers Assoc, later BC PACKERS LTD....
