Borradaile, Osmond


BORRADAILE, Osmond, cinematographer (b 1898, Winnipeg, MB; d 1998, Vancouver). He began his career in Hollywood in 1914 and gradually worked his way up to cameraman. It was the era of the silent movies and Borradaile worked with such directors as Cecil B. DeMille and stars such as Rudolph Valentino and Gloria Swanson. In the 1930s he went to England and worked with London Films, Alexander Korda's production team, shooting some of the great classics of film history, including Elephant Boy...
