Maggot-worms

Aside from basic morphology and unconfirmed speculation, very little information about the maggot-worms (Family Sphaerodoridae) is available, likely because they are obscureā€”seldom seen or collected. The size and shape of these polychaetes varies from short, grub-like individuals to more elongate forms. Based on the content of their fecal deposits, maggot-worms are believed to feed on organic matter found in surface sediments of the sea floor.
