Public Lecture on Orcas

The appearance of a group of transient orcas in the waters off Stanley Park on Wednesday gives me an excuse to mention a talk I am giving about these creatures at the North Vancouver Museum and Archives.

Date: Saturday, June 4

Time: 2 p.m.

Location: Community History Centre, 3203 Institute Road, off Lynn Valley Road in North Vancouver

Subject: Killer Whales of the Pacific Coast: From Man-eaters to Icon. I am going to try and explain how the image of the orca was transformed over the past 50 years from man-eating predator to an iconic symbol of the Coast.

Everyone welcome!
