Too Old for the CBC

Posted by Daniel on Nov 23, 2009

I visited the CBC News website, my usual homepage, and up popped an invitation to take a survey. Great, I thought, a chance to give some feedback about the public broadcaster and why I feel that, as a lifelong listener, I have been abandoned by its rush to capture a younger demographic.

Well, excuse my naivete. No sooner had I answered one of the preliminary questions (Age? 62) than I was told abruptly that the CBC was not interested in my views, or words to that effect -- presumably I was too old to have a meaningful opinion -- and I was dumped back into the ether.

This from a network that I've supported with my tax dollars for four decades. Surely Peter Gzowski must be turning in his grave.
