    Tour the EBC

The CD-ROM and on-line editions of the Encyclopedia of BC incorporate all of the articles and photographic images of the print edition along with sound, video and a range of additional features.

    Sound
Hundreds of sound clips invite you to listen to loggers at work in BC's forests, hear the correct pronunciation of "geoduck," "Kwak'waka'wakw" and many more BC words, and relive the days when Bill VanderZalm's trademark "Fa-a-a-a-a-antastic!" filled the air waves.

    Video
Both the CD-ROM and the on-line edition include more than 40 minutes of video clips, from the incredible blasting of Ripple Rock in 1958, to Bryan Adams performing in a rock video, to the bustle of streetcars, cyclists and horse-drawn carriages in 1909 Victoria.

    Graphics
The 1,500 archival and contemporary photographs in the print edition appear, along with hundreds of maps, tables, graphs and illustration, all of them in full colour, for quick and easy access to BC facts and stats of all kinds.

    Connections
The editors have designed an expanded system of cross-references and links for the CD-ROM and on-line editions. There are more than 17,000 hyperlinks within the articles and 700 links to related Web sites, and a powerful search engine allows you to comb through the entire EBC archive--text, image and multimedia elements--in seconds.
