How To Use Far West
FAR WEST is an authoritative history of British Columbia designed for use by younger readers, either working on their own, or under the supervision of a parent or teacher. The Table of Contents lists the ten main sections of Far West. You may go directly to either of these parts by clicking on it. Each section is divided into subsections. To see these, click on the box to the right of the section title. A menu will drop down listing the subsections. You may go directly to one of these by clicking on it. Far West has two other parts, sidebars and links.
SIDEBARS As you read the main story in the left-hand column, you will come across sidebars on the right side. These sidebars contain interesting stories that add to the main text.
RELATED LINKS To the right of the main column you will find boxes with the title "Related Links." These lead you to other web sites that have all sots of wonderful stories, photos, movies, quizzes, and interactive features related to the main text. But remember, when you click on a related link, you leave the Far West web site and go to a different web site. To get back to Far West, you must click on your browser's "back" button until Far West reappears. If the "back" button is not working, you may have to close the page you are visiting by clicking on the red "x" in the upper right corner, then use the "back" button. If you accidentally lose you Far West connection, you may need to reopen it in your browser. To make this easier, you may wish to bookmark Far West. If you do not know how to do this, ask for help.
