Guidelines for Use of the Forum

The forum is open to everyone, and we have established a few ground rules to help ensure an open, comfortable discussion space for all participants. The forum's moderators reserve the right to remove postings and/or suspend participants that are considered in breach of these guidelines.

You take full responsibility for what you say in the discussion areas. In the interests of open and honest conversation, we ask you to post under your real name.

Please avoid gratuitous personal attacks. We welcome to spirited debate and disagreement, but there is a significant difference between disagreeing with an idea and attacking an individual. Please participate in a civil manner, and be respectful of other points of view.

Deliberate disruption will not be tolerated. This means we reserve the right to delete posts of an abusive, disruptive, obscene or commercial nature.

We encourage everyone to stay on topic. If you want to discuss a topic that is not related to the area in which you are participating, please go to another topic area or create a new one. In other words: be curious, be forthcoming, be opinionated about all areas of life in BC -- but be considerate. The KnowBC Forum is a place for respectful discussion.
